In olden days in India mostly the Bulls are used in fields for agriculture as well as transport. The bulls are arranged to cart and farmoers shift the carry bags and food grains from one place to other. Like horse races in India bull races are conducted now-a-days. 

In olden days the bulluck carts are decorated well and used in festivals. Bullock carts are helpfull in avoiding pollution and Indians worship the bull as Nandi(Vahana of Lord Shiva

How are these toys are made?

1) Thse handycrafts are made of wood locally called as Tella Punigi( WHITE SANDAL WOOD) which is localli available in the forests of Kondapalli. The scientific name of this wood is GYEOROCARPUS. The botanical name of this wood is JIVOTIA ROTTERIFORMIS FORMS

The Kondapalli Crafts Men use this perticular wood becauase this wood can be easily curved into different shapes and also the wood is light weight. 

This wood is brought by the Kondapalli Crfts men from the nearby forests and cut into different sizes, according to the requirements and then the wood is dried in the sun for two months to reduce the sweetness do that in future there wont be any chedalu(Wood bugs). 

2) This wood is used by the craftsmen of Kondapalli to create different shapes and different carvings using small hand tools. 80% of the people living in this vilage are craftsmen and the village just survives from these handicrafts. 

3) Then they apply a paste on this wood to smoothen the suface, the paste is locally called as NAM SUDHA, which is made up of a mixture of fine powder of lime stone and the fine powder of tamarind seeds. 

4) Once the primary coating is finished then these object are hand painted the artists usally by females from the same village of Kondapalli. The paintings used by them are vigitable colors, which are made from just pure vegatables. The look and feel of these handycrafts is wonderfull just for the reason they use vegatable colors. They look entirly different than other colors.
